For folks who have ever wondered how to ensure their cryptocurrency is properly handled when they pass – attorney Pamela Morgan is the person to ask.
In 2014, she began focusing her legal practice on blockchain technology and bitcoin, with an emphasis teaching others how use blockchain tech to reduce risk and uncertainty in a legal setting.
Morgan is the founder of Third Key Solutions L.L.C.. It is a company that’s primary focus is working with individuals and businesses to make sure their cryptocurrency assets are safe in the event of an emergency, crisis, or even death.
Recently, she published a book entitled Cryptoasset Inheritance Planning: A Simple Guide for Owners. The work covers a variety of topics, such as how to write a basic access plan in two to three hours and debunking common misconceptions about crypto asset inheritance planning.
Outside of her legal work, Morgan is also a public speaker who has appeared at a number of blockchain-related functions, including Let’s Talk Bitcoin’s 5th Anniversary Event, which we recently covered. (Stay tuned for event footage!!!)
You can view her talk on estate planning with cryptocurrency assets at the BoB Chicago meetup here.
Pamela Morgan is helping to “move the chain” by teaching others how to protect their cryptocurrency in this life… and beyond.
“Most people have never thought about what will happen to their bitcoin, ether, and other crypto-assets if something bad happens to them. Even if you do understand the concept of passing your crypto-assets to your loved ones, actually doing the work to make it happen is often a daunting prospect. It’s one of those tasks, without a hard deadline, that gets pushed to the end of your to-do list, repeatedly. Most people don’t know where to start, and there are very few resources available to help guide you through the process. But it doesn’t have to be that way.”
Morgan is a former college professor who has taught a variety of subjects including law and management.
