In episode 5, we interview Jeffery Ramirez for our “Blockchain and You” series. Jeffery previously assisted us at Blockchain WTF with website development and software engineering. He was our handy man for the technicalities, and he added a lot to our team & our site! In this interview, we ask his past, present, and future takes on blockchain, cryptocurrenies and their impact on his life.

How and when did you first hear about blockchain technology?

I first heard about blockchain technology years back from Reddit when Bitcoin was just starting out.

Who are you and what is your role in Blockchain WTF?

I’m Jeff Ramirez, and I’m a software engineer here at Blockchain WTF. (Editor’s note: Jeffery is no longer with us as a software engineer, but still a friend!)

What influence do you think cryptocurrencies will have?

I think cryptocurrencies will become the new way people will pay for things, whether at the store paying for lunch or paying back friend.

When were you intrigued, and when were you sold?

I was intrigued when I saw expensive Bitcoin got, and I knew I wanted to get in on that. I got in when I saw Reddit was doing a fundraiser for a Jamaican bobsled team with Dogecoin. I started researching it, and it got some ground, and I even made some money from it.

What’s your prediction for the future of blockchain technology & cryptocurrencies?

My prediction is more developers will build on more platforms like Ethereum and Waves. I look forward to the future, and I believe blockchain and crypto will continue to grow.
